Default Butte La Rose 12/17

Had to scratch a fishing itch so put the yak in the Butte La Rose canal for a couple hours around noon. Very windy and cold but was able to find a turn in the bayou out of the wind. Caught 3 small bass, 5 big choupic and lost 3 unidentified fish with brief hookups.
Feel much better now. Junebug worms sprayed with garlic caught everything.

I saw a chick on bourbon last weekend that looked just like that fish you're holding in your right hand.

I let them go but my dad always said if you season them well roll em in cornmeal and deep fry they taste as good as anything else in the water. Luckily I still got a lot trout filets in the freezer

Default Butte La Rose Sunday

Fished Butte La Rose again Sunday for a couple of hours. Very nice morning to fish, light winds and plenty sunshine. Caught a couple nice bass but the fish were very sluggish, hardly felt the bite kinda like the line just got heavy. Can't wait for the spring fishin in the Basin.

my buddy filleted a choupique and said its white meat and it has scales must be good to eat, we fried some, throw that crap on the bank and get that outta the water that is some nasty crap! thats why people mix every season you can think of and mix it with cornmeal so it takes the crap taste away, why even mess with it! I'll stick with the trout flounder bass reds sac a lait and bream.

Meat is yellowish color. Gotta grind it up and mix it, like you said, with onions and seasoning and make a patty. Dredge in flour, pan fry it in butter.
