Default Beach 9/30

headed for the beach this mornin and got there about sunrise. saw a few big boats a ways out on the drive there. when i arrived i saw that it was blowing ENE and was a bit rougher today with bigger swells. undaunted, i launched my yak into moderate waves. the water is about the same as yesterday.. just kinda so-so.
i went right for the plastics this morning and about 20 minutes in, i caught my first one. I went on to catch 5 more over about 2 hours. no giants, just solid fish.
i saw several others along the beach as i was coming back.. i'm curious to see how they fared..

heres a few pics from this morning's excursion.

Well it was not as productive as yesterday, but just as fun. I met Paul Myers in Sulphur and we headed down to da beach. Like Jedi said alot more wave action, but the water looked better where I was at. Stuck to game plan and climbed on the rocks. Casted for a half hour or so then all the sudden I picked up one here then one there. Caught 4 in the next hr or so all just 13 - 16" trout. Paul caught 2 trout casting on the edge of the rocks. Then it just stopped before it could even get started. I also caught a 26" red.
Jedi when you passed us we didnt catch anything after that. You made a good call. It got muddy and the wave began crashing bringing muddy water around the rocks and area. Ya'll it dont look good till a few days from now I prolly hit da lake tomorrow look for birds or a reef or 2. Shrimp may still be running at weirs, who knows!!!!

thanks alot... it's kind of a p.i.t.a. to snap pics from a 10' yak in 2' swells with a cell phone, but every once in a while i take a nice pic. besides that, it's cool for me to really look at them later since i release 95% of my fish. the other 5%?? it's reserved for sacalait and bass for the table mmmmmm

They are still running, but there are lots of people. The shrimp were a little slower and smaller yesterday but I still got 5 gallons. Enjoy my brothers!
