My grandfather catches a good bit of white perch and he almost always used tube jigs on small jig heads. Just castes out with a slow retrieve. A lot of blue/white and red/white colors. Every now and then he'll use black/chart or rootbeer color also.

And there ya go. The crappy commander has spoken. You won't be able to find a creole magic tube jig within 100 miles of this place now

1/32 jig head white tube jig with chartreuse tail and red head under a slip cork with a bobber stopper and a split shot about 6 inches above the jig head if needed to get down quickly.

A stick of dynamite would be the only chance I would have at catching them. I've never been very successful at catching them dang fish. I always seem to be a day early or a day late.

Story of my life too. Caught a big one here and there fishing shiners for bass, but always wrong time and place when targeting them.

We have been using this type of jig. This one is a strike king but prefer the kind by bass assassin. Once we started using these that's pretty much all we use now and the sacalait love it!! ImageUploadedByTapatalk1390522984.603898.jpg

Yeah we were catching a good bit a few weeks ago and another guy was fishing near us not catching anything, he asked what we were using , he said he tried pretty much every jig he had so we gave him a few jigs and he started catching right away!

Countryboy is a good dude like that. In Henderson a couple years ago he called me and my nephew over to where they were catching and told us what to use and where to throw and we started catching em pretty good. My nephews first fish and the first time I ever caught sacalait like that. Damn good dude! |
