Default Short day

Today I ran with Mike Jeffcoat. We had 6 people. Our first area we fished produced nothing. The water was dirty. The other boats in our area headed east along the shelf. We started going that way but decided to go south instead. On our first drift we hook up and after a short battle we loose the fish. Knot pulled It was not a knot of mine but I cut off the curl and put another hook on. On our second drift we hook up again. This time we stick a nice fat 60 pounder.

On the third drift things start going downhill quickly. We get a good one on the line and it is spooling the 50 wide fast. I get the guy in front pulling in his line as fast as possable and Mike gets on the wheel. The guy with the fish on being a novice suddenly makes a big mistake thanks to a damn TV show With the drag burning out he decides to crank and pull the line in with his left hand. Thanks Wicked Tuna! YUP the leader broke. Getting in position for another set one of the guys looses his balance and footing and lands hard on both his knees. Don't know exactly what happened but we had to call it and head in. His father wanted to get him to a medical facility and have him checked out.

All we had to show was this one for the day.

Hung around the dock and picked up some extra cash cleaning fish till dark.

Fishing is not a matter of life or death. It's more important than that.

Sounds like you put the crew on the fish and they just couldn't handle it.
Good job as always!
