Default Deep topwater trout

Been fishing quite a bit lately but staying tight lipped. Today was a lil unique so I figured I would share. Week days have been better. It's been hard to get away from the crowds on the weekend. After a wet weekend in Hackberry at Camp Canard's I was itching to get back on the water.

Left out of Boston canal at 5am heading for the long run. When we pulled up we thought it was on. First few cast were hook ups, then It shut down. There wasn't much current moving so we figured we would stick around.

We picked up a few more through out the morning but it was slow. The current started moving and there was fishing crashing on bait all over but couldn't get em to bite.

We were offshore for one, and in 12ft of water for two. Finally I figured I would go against everything I know and pull a skitterwalk out.

First cast and it was on. We probably caught 15 in a row before it slowed up. It was getting hot so we heading in with 30. Catching on topwater in that deep of water was def a new experience for me. Guess it goes to show you never be scared.
