Naw after work
I live 5 minutes away
Friend in picture lives 10 minutes away.
Easier to come straight from work than change clothes its the superbowl right now for this pond.
We plan this every year just like the stocking of the rainbow trout.

We been fishing this pond since 1978 and right now you got 3 weeks of primo fishing for bass every late Sept to early Oct.
Right now got 1 week 1/2 for this pond to be perfect. After that its going back to a bass here and bass there.

This pond has alot more big bass and bream you just got a short window on it.
Spring got certain signals
Late spring small window
Sept/Oct best time for alot of larger bass in pond
Dec around Thurs before let out of school they stock pond with rainbow trout like clock work.

haven't been able to confirm it, but rumor says they are going to enlarge the pond and dig it out . kinda like the Burbank pond. They didn't stock the trout there last year because of the construction. hopefully they will this year. i'm only about 15 min.
away.

Ok, I live in South Sherwood Forest, I am going to have to hit this up with my 5 year old. Any tips? I assume it is best to catch and release the bass, but the brim and trout can come home?

Sorry hopefully got back with Kcnnick.
Been busy went fishing in marsh and trollmotor wires touched and shorted out.

I love the smallest rebel minnow in arkansas shad green with white.
Bad part for a kid those trebel hooks are not good.

For them I like little small zoom smallest flukes. Looks like little minnow with number one worm hook.
You can bam some little bass right off the bank.

I discussed other lures.

Still love clear bubble (rainbow get them at cabelas have to fill it 3/4 with water for weight).
hook on a popping bug. Man I like messing with those bream on a popping bug more than the bass.
That just my thing and it is so exciting seeing a bream bust up on that popping bug.

Talked to keno Spurlock he is the supervisor over central Baton Rouge parks and this one. We talked about fishing, but said they are not finished with the park.
They are going to build a walk way around it and expand the pond. He did not say much about when though. It is a community park, so it should be the next one up for pond enlargement.

Trout typically if they put it in the pond this year it is always on Thursday before EBRP Schools let out. One year it was a few days late due to bad weather in Missourri where the Hatchery is.

Pond very healty good grass, water clean right now, and there are some key spots.
They got a good bass class this year. You can see those wing wongers hanging around the banks.
