If you want blackfin you should trailer your boat farther east. I think it's about 140ft 80 miles due south of Cameron

How do you all catch the small Croaker that you fish with and what do you look for when catching them such as shallow water, rips, or locations to find them. Are there other bait fish that are easy to catch and use? Also does anyone troll lures for the Tuna as I did in Washington state during the summer for Albacore Tuna. I would run the outriggers/or not and four purple lead head skirts and 6 other lures off other rods and 2 dead or meat lines under the boat to the right and left of the engines with rubber snubbers. This was extremely effective for the Tuna up there and wondering if you all do the same and how effecive it is here.

I think I can manage catching them and have to dig out the sabiki rigs and the same thing we caught smelt on. Can you cast net bait fish here like croakers. How about the flying fish? I appreciate your information and any assistance! Where do you do most of your offshore fishing?

If you knew where some croakers were I assume you could cast net em. Mullet is a good castnetable bait too. I mostly fish out of Grand Isle and Venice when going offshore
