Default Big Lake Fishing Forecast 9-19 and 9-20

With the rain-out last weekend and college football fanatics starting a new post with every kickoff, how a little feeshing discussion. Will Big Lake trout still be productive on the North end this coming weekend? Weather looks to be good but the tides look mixed. Any report on the water? Are light color plastics still working?

Do ya'll believe that the trout are in "transition" and coming inshore to get active on the reefs? I read about this phenomena somewhere. What's the local knowledge?

Lots of shrimp coming out of the marshes right now, birds should be all over the lake this month, we had ALOT of rain these last few days, tides were way up also due to that low pressure, not sure how the high tides over the last few days and all the fresh water will equal out yet, was in the lake yesterday just for a boat ride and the water was pretty clear

I have a lot to do when I get off work, but I will be hitting the north end like Prien for a couple hours Thurs.
I will be looking for some ladyfish. I hear they are a challenge to catch in Big Lake.

I don't believe they are in "Transition."....I know they are in Transition right now!!! With this cooler rain driven weather the last 5 days....I'm sure thousands of trout have moved from the deeper waters to the reefs and shallow flats!!!! Looking back in my records about this time every year it seems to take place!! Large rain fall and lots of trout!!! Any time now the shrimp will start pouring out of the marshes which you will find fish real easy due to bird action!! Also you can target trout with the tide movement as they chase bait out and into the lake!!! I don't think this rain is going to mess the fishing up...If anything a good flushing will help!!!

You can throw taco's all day long and still manage to pick up a quick limit, that's how thick they are in there!

It took me a few seconds to figger out *** a taco was, until I thought about what a
cast net looks like when I chunk one...
Bait has to figure out how to get into the net.

About 3 weeks ago.....no shrimp in the marsh. How things change when the time is right.

What size are they catching?
