today was my day off and it has been rod building since 3am this morning, i just stopped long enough to eat a salad and catch my breath.
my morning was wrapping rods until about 10am then i had to start the part where i had to do the grip and reel seat thang this part i hate because of the glue. got all that done and what i have done is put toghter a 7ft med action with a nice fast tip no fore grip but it has a trigger and a cut out seat for feel, titanium guides with gold inserts 7in cork lower grip, the butt wrap is going to be black and gold as well as the guide wraps they two will be gold and black.
it will have the saints logo and this inscription-

"new orleans saints"
superbowl champions
xliv 2010
it will also have the owners name as well as fish of choice and all other goodies, this is going to be one of the finest spirals that you will ever see come out of my shop.i will try to post photos on thur some time depends on my work load at work.
now this rod is up for grabs i will take bids or offers on this rod, i know what it's worth and that's what i would like to get for this beauty, so if you want to start making an offer feel free but as soon as the right number pop's up it's over i want let it go beyond what i truly feel it's worth, so lets start the gamble you have nothing to loose but you have a saints billystix spiral to gain."i promise you will love this red buster"

what do the cost of his rods run? I dont have the money right now cuz Im in school but maybe this summer when I have time to work a lil more I'd like to get one. How much would I be looking at spending? I wouldnt mind getting a saints one made but who knows.

good mornig guys, been up since 4 am trying to get some rod work done , now it's time to get ready for work, the rod is "sold" want to thank calcutta36 for his bid on this saints spiral.
the question was asked how much does billystix charge for his rods, and that is a hard questin to truly answer, but i can tell you this it is very seldom that i go over $250 for an inshore rod but then another builder might charge as much as $450 for this same rod. it truly depends on several factors mainly what i have to put into said rod before building, a lot of times i will catch my dealer in a sell mode and thier bidness aint so good and they will have stuff kinda backed up and they need $$$$ so they will deal, now when this happens i buy then i pass this on to you the rod customer, yes i could make a killing on a single rod but i dont work like that, i would rather build 3 rods at an afforable price and have 3 happy clients out there talking billystix custom rods instead of having one grumpy dude out there telling people"man it's a great rod , but dam he sticks it to ya, see my point mor happy friends give me more happy salesmen so i just am happy with a little bit at a time, because i want 3 rod,s to be built instead of 1 follow my drift, this is why i will always work with my customer as best i can, so dont ever feel like that you cant call me and talk, the very worst thing that can happen is i can say is "sorry i cant help you right now" and most likley that want ever happen because a customer lost is a customer lost, thats why when i build the 2 rods for the contest they will be just like i built them for $250 they will be "billystixcustom rods"
so i will build them as such.
