Default fishing weirs in calcasieu lake

hey guys, i fished a few of the weirs today in the lake for the first time with no luck; tried shrimp gulp, and a couple of other plastics; was wondering what bait works best and also if it is legal to fish/ crab on the weirs, mainly the bayou bois connine weir

All the baits you mentioned will work. Being in the right spot on the right tide is more important than the bait. Watch others and you will see who is catching and how they are set up. You can crab from your boat but don't set foot on land or on the weir.

And the depth you fish at is also important. The reds are mostly on the bottom. The Hackberry Rod and Gun Guides know how to do it for sure as a lot of other experienced angler do to.
