My last trip, I did good using a white curly tail grub on a 1/4 oz jig.

The trout hit it best with a fast retrieve.

Hope you get some cloud cover like there was yesterday afternoon. I made me think about going, but the 100 F temperature yesterday kept me at home.......and the LSU game.

Trailering to Hog Island gulley launch and fishing west cove and the wash out. Wave if you see an 18 ft camoed tunnel.

They said in the paper last week the launches would be open from now on? Gonna be pizzed if I get down there and they are closed. Hog island will be closed for repairs to the launches but west cove is open per the sabine headquarters.

i launched at west cove the other day off of hwy 27, by the weir... it was hell getting out into the cove because of the crab traps, GO SLOW AND STAY AWAY FROM THE ROCKS... I DEMOLISHED A $500 PROP !!!.

Just remember that when using the boat launches in Sabine NR......you have to be "OUT OF THERE" by sundown. Not when it gets dark.

You were right about the crab traps, they should be cited by WLF for navigation hazard. Managed to boat one 4.5 trout on long point, wind
was starting to die down as I did the Deadliest Catch run back to West
Cove launch. Water was fine in the canals behind Head Quarters. Worst
part of the day was getting back in my truck and having to listen to Fox
news carry on about M Jackson (DAMN THE BAD LUCK)!

Regards
