Default Joesph Harbor/Rockefeller

Have not been fishing since the holidays. I normally fish Big lake 3 times a month but between the Rain, wind and my schedule it just has not happend. My fishing buddy talked me into going to Rockefeller and launching out of Joesph Harbor. We down to Pensoil/haliburton plant and fish the canals to the the right of it. Buddys neighbor has a camp down there so we hand good reports and exactly where to go. We caught our limit of reds plus one small flounder. The bite was slow and steady and they did not fight like normal red fish. Dead shrimp on 1/8 jig head bouncing on bottom. You could bearly feel a light thump and then pressure on the line. Like they pick it up and just stop. We had 3 throw backs and the rest were keepers. No pictures as when we made it back to Crowley it was dark and we cleaned them in a hurry. Seen a few dead hogs on the side of the road and saw the Game Warden at the local store said that people are hitting them all the time. One of those hogs was pretty big and I would have hate to seen the car that hit it.

Default Pig

I hit one last December going hunting around 8:30 PM and it did about $3,000 worth of damage to my Expedition. It ran out in front and I had no where to go and lucky I did not flip in one of the canals.

I had read that somewhere too but it is open. Just the normal places that close every year are closed and they are marked with signs with dates.

East side of locks is closed for repairs. West side closes Feb 15th until work is completed.
