Default Arkansas duck hunting

Look at a place to go this year for a few days. Has anyone had any experience up there? Any lodge recommendations? Thanks in advance.

If u don't want to work hard definitely go with a outfitter. Because hunting public in Arkansas is a whole different animal than public hunting in LA

you want to hunt timber or rice? You looking for a high class experience or just a place to sleep and some good hunting?

I hunted last year at Bust A Duck. The outfitter, guides, lodge, equipment were all great. Unfortunately the hunting was pretty poor. Just no ducks in the area. That happens even in Arkansas. But I can't recommend Buster Cooper and this place enough. We had a blast even with the slow hunting.

Top notch place.

They have stopped the shotgun start race. Now you have to idle all the way to gate before you can make a wake. We always just showed up at 5 to miss the crazies at 4. Good holes were gone but you can still kill your birds if you can hunt. Lotsa public timber in Arkie and when there is water there is good hunting for ppl willing to scout and find birds.

Thanks to the Robertson family. It was not like that "Pre Duck Dynasty." I guess once the show goes off the air it will get back to normal. I can remember hunting Bayou Meto in 2008, there were four trucks at the launch.

I guess that's why they're always talking about those stage 1 & 2 mods on MMT. Every mph counts when its a race to the blind.

I befriended some guys here in jonesboro while I am here in school and they guide just south of here in Harrisburg. I went with them several times last year and their worst hunt was 20 something ducks hunting everyday of the season. The name of the place is smokin barrels. Top notch guys and will definitely put you on ducks. I have some pictures if you would like to see and they are on twitter if you are into that
