Default One of those days

So I've had a sinus infection for a few days and got a steroid shot yesterday, I finally fell asleep this morning at 5:30am. I woke up around 9 and decided to finish wiring my trolling motor and clean the boat. Took the kids to a cub scout meet then put the boat in the water.......right off the bat, no plug. I load it back on the trailer and let it drain cracking jokes with a guy next to me saying he forgot his plug and straps still on a few weeks earlier. Got the plug in, cranked the engine, cranked it again.....again....bang it fires, dies at the dock picking the kids up and won't crank. Drop the trolling motor and it works flawlessly, that felt good. Crank the engine again and it will stay running pumping the bulb. You know it would die 30 feet from the trailer and I would have to get it on by hand. Call my brother-in-law and he reminds me about looking at the fuel filter inside the hull, yep.....completely corroded and sucking air. Oh well, back home, boat washed......ordered a pizza. Life is good.....haha.

I know the feeling. Pulled up the gator line this morning and had a huge one on. He was thrashing around and I finally got his head up out the water and my son went to shot him and he forgot to load the gun. The line broke after that

Since we're talking about filters I highly recommend installing one of these. IMO it's probably the most important and functional "accessory" for your boat.

The one I have is solid on the bottom but looks like that. I ended up buying 2 today, they will be in tomorrow. I'll look at them and see exactly which on it is, thanks!

personally I find these to be great http://www.ebay.com/itm/Marpac-7-6862-Qwick-View-Filter-Assembly-Fuel-Water-Separator-Clear-10-Micron-/172305898509?hash=item281e3b5c0d:g:UjYAAOSwQYZWzmo q&vxp=mtr

they give you a full view to know how your gas flow is going, replacement fuel filter cartridges are just $10-$15, and its completely and totally rust proof since whatever isn't plastic is made of brass, except for the top, which is some sort of rust proof magnesium alloy I think.

mine has been sitting out in direct sunlight for 5 yrs and has no rust, no issues, and still looks like the day I bought it

The one peice filter is ok, but the bottom drain works great for removing water, or ethanol h20 mixture. You can probably buy the 2 piece filter with drain for your existing mount.
