Default Spring Break at Holly Beach 4/9/12

With a little North wind we headed down to see how the water looked. We found some nice water at long beach and westward, but it was patchy. The bite was slow but managed to pick up eight specs, and lost several more at the sand on white and chartreuse sand eels . Just waiting on another front to come through and clean up the water a bit.

Thanks for the report. Good deal. I knew it was just a matter of time when the trout would be in the surf with the warm weather. I live to surf fish every spring and summer. That's how I learned to fish. It'll only get better as it warms up.

Paw Paw Wally and My Dad taught me well. I can still hear my Dad saying "every man for himself if you're in the water." I can remember when I had to learn how to tie knots and take off fish while getting pounded by waves all by myself at about 7 yrs old. Every time I get in the the suds I think of them and that learning experience.
