You can launch, but there is no pier. You have to beach to take on passengers.
The launch across the ship channel and just south is very nice though. |

There is a chain with a sign on it last time I passed by boat. I see people launching there, but the ferry blocks access when it is on the West side of the channel.
Not sure what the sign says. Parish is gonna rebuild it after the regular ferry is back in commission. Money is already allocated for the rebuild. |

You can't launch at the west side at the ferry. It's only open to commercial fisherman. We spoke to a deckhand on the ferry to confirm that. Heard through the grapevine one of the captains on the ferry raised hell so, now the public can't launch there. We had to cross the ferry and launch off of Davis Rd. last weekend. It should reopen when the big ferry is back running. I heard they are painting the deck now and should be ready next month. Only thing is they just started working on the ramps for the ferry and no telling how long that will take to fix.

Yep can't launch there. Ain't worth a crap anyway. Tried to launch there this summer and the guy at ferry started screaming at us. They moved the ferry landing close to it so they won't let u launch cause of the wake the ferry makes.
