Have a good time, lots to do in the area. Take the short drive down to Tampa Bay and check it out, very cool city.

Driving is the only way to go under 15 hours. I can't stand being beholden to airlines, airports, shuttles, rent-a-cars, cabs, the list goes on and on.

Sure Paul, there are never wrecks or issues out of your control on the highway. You are in complete control of everything on I-10.......

I used to travel for work. In the summer I'd watch the storm cells on radar roll through the Atlanta airport at night. You learn not to be emotional about travel, but pretty soon I loved to love my truck, my iPod, Sirrius radio, audio books. GPS and iPhone for getting around. I leave when I want, a little 5 hour energy to make it home. And no douche next to me on a slam-full flight wanting to be my best friend for two hours. |

I guess I am lucky here in Houston I have rarely had issues. I would not ever have to go to Atlanta unless it were my destination I can fly direct anywhere I need to go. When I lived in Baton Rouge at a small airport my opinion was different. Personally I prefer to simply not travel. |

^^This!!! I spent 4 hours locked up between 2 exits on I-10. I could've flown to Orlando before I took the truck out of park!! |

That is because you guys don't have a real airport. Direct flight from either airport in Houston, bush is 15 minutes from my house. My time is with way more than a 15 hour drive. I probably fly 40 or more time a year, for me it's the only way to go.

You saved some money, would you have rather had 12 extra hours of vacation with your family? Everything in life has a price. What if you would have only saved $50?

That may be true in your case, I've always look at it as an adventure. I've been to Florida 27 times. I remember the bridge on hwy 98 into Destin being made of wood.

How can you possibly keep up with how many times you have been to Florida? I have been to hackberry 197 times and Grand Isle 186.
