Pretty satisfied with 24' sea fox. Rides smooth and dry, little head for the kids. Gets 51 mph with a yam 250, tailwind, and a wax job. Drafts a little too much. My next one will be a blue wave.

Topdawg and Bayouchub.. I know exactly WHAT a 3-4 legit sea is.. I've got 25 + yrs as a 3rd party safety consultant overseas and here in the GoM.. Caspian, South China, North Altantic, Perian Gulf, Gulf Of Tonkin, Bay of Campece just to name a few.. 3' to 65' seas.. I've seen them.. I worked in 25' to 10,000' of water all over this earth I worked on some of the largest, TLP's, Semi's, Drillships, Deepwater Production assets in the WORLD, as well Deep water intervention vessels the last 5 yrs. At one time I held a 100 ton, unlimited masters GC license.. Now I just have a 6 pack.. Not to mention I started as a deck hand when Breaux's Baycraft were making gunboats for the Vietnam War, back in the early 70's. I'd do sea trails on my weekends and summers.. So between my Work and Recreational time last 25. Say 160 days a yr... That's being conservative. Then another 70 days a yr. for 30 yrs. Well: U do the Math.. But then again Who's counting.. But I would agree.. I WOULDN'T go in 3-4' seas in a 25 GW.. Wettest rough riding thing I ever seen.. So Yes; with about 6,200 days on the water in my life time. (Conservative). I don't know what Legit 3-4' seas are.. But then again I'm in training to be (Dubs) Deck *****... Nough SAID.. BIGGUN OUT... |

Ground swell chub, ground swell. I've never owned or ridden in a triton, but would like to see one hammer some 3-4's for 35 miles. |

A Triton boat can handle very rough seas, they are made for rough water and probably the best bay boat for those seas

I agree that my triton can handle some pretty rough stuff. Now do I want to be in those conditions, HELL NO, but do I think I could make it, yes as long as I didn't run into engine trouble or some other catastrophe. Also depends on how many seconds apart the waves are

A 15 deg deadrise bay boat is not meant for 3-4 seas. Period. If your fishin a barrier island or nearshore rig and weather goes south sure you can make it in. I have done it. But to intentionally run 35 miles in 3-4s or put yourself in the situation to have to is purely and simply idiotic.

I have a 24' triton and have gotten caught 25-30 mile out in 3-4+ seas in the rain blowin sideways. Not fun . Would I ever intentionally do it hell freaking no . Was I scared we might not make it back? No but if it got any worse I would have c h I t myself. A true 3-4 ' sucks in pretty any boat that has an outboard motor . I do find it humorous when guys on here talk about their bay boats eatin up 2-3' "chop" lmao . As far as tge sea pro I've also gotten stuck offshore in a 22' sea pro and it handled it great , now again not something I'd intentionally venture out in but crap happens in the blink of an eye out there
