My son and some buds did this when they were juniors in high school as a science project. We kept the casting a couple years before passing it along to a relative. No two are the same.

That was back in 2000. I had a buddy that owned an iron foundary here. The kids gathered up everything aluminum they could find...even the screen door frame on my shop. Glen melted the stuff for them, they walked behind his shop and poured it down a huge ant bed. Dug it up, brought it home, washed it off and won 1st place at the Franklinton Parish Free Fair. Lots of kids were asking him if they could use it next year. It made a cool Christmas for a couple years.
