We were doing some test runs with it yesterday. It was a good day to give any boat a workout.

Here are some side-by-side comparison photos of the new 256 (white) sitting next to a 224 (black). Sorry about the picture quality but it was starting to get dark.

It ran 57 MPH with 4 people in the boat, 3/4 tank of fuel, 4 batteries, trolling motor, and 2 power poles. This boat is an absolute beast. The ride was incredibly soft and dry in very rough conditions on Big Lake.

Ride was excellent. Very dry even when we tried to make it wet. Very heavy boat but will run in the upper 50's with a load.

Dang the 224 looks tiny Compared to the 256. Is it rated for a 300 or could a 350 be slapped on the back

Did they keep the same diamond grid finish in the interior of the boat, or did they go with a textured type finish?

I'm not sure what you are referring to as a diamond grid finish, but the textured flooring on both models consists of a pattern with tiny ovals. It is very easy to clean
