I freaked when the young guys from Ga said they used to go out w/ one strike dog and get hogs.................so did we!!!!!!!!! But not anymore. Now, seems like you drop the tailgates and they are rolling.

We have to get some type of aggreement w/ large groups of landowners so we can wipe these things down some kind of way. We can get access to hunt some land w/ hog dogs, but you run into problems when they cross property lines. We have literally set at a fence for hours trying to call the dogs of a hog 1/3 mile on the other side and could not go in to kill the hog. SUCKS!

Unfortunately, I forsee the government stepping in sooner or later, and no good will come from that!
lol was there when it happened

The biggest thing we ran into when running dogs was the reputation that the dogs run through the woods killing anything that moves.

Crystal- You list your location as "Austin", so I am not surprised by your response. Look dude, I was simply giving my opinion that the guy is a "real winner". You may be related to him for all I know. But he has a reputation that makes him who he is! My comments were meant to go farther, in detail, but figured the common folk around here would understand. I mean he made it sound like he was going to a battle with a monster. PLEASE!!!!!! It's a 100# pig that he used tie straps on because he said it was too big to tie - whatever! You live in country where you can run one big RCD and have success. We can't over here, why because of terrain/cover that we can not get through. On antoher part of the show he cast his dog on a group of hogs out in the open with the spotlights on them. "Yippee" - he can sight cast a dog into a group of hogs at 50 yards! - so can my wife's lap dog! If he was a real "removal specialist" he would have used every legal means of clearing the hogs out. Shoot em' with the spot light, then run the dogs to pick up what you can't. You know as well as I do you can kill them in Texas all night long w/ spotlights and will do more damage to the herd than one dog.

Now I'm getting started - what I am saying is the show was made for TV and not a true representation of what the problems are for the real world. Parts of it were staged and you can't tell me otherwise. I mean come on, lets make sure she gets her pretty pink knife with the little glitter stones on the glitter belt before the hunt! They are a joke, he is a joke, and he wants to be picked up by the Outdoor Channel so bad he's hoping this gets him some recognition. If I lived in that country I would love a RCD, and they do work, but he is not my favorite person because I do not like people like him.

As some other people on here would put it - he is a "poser"!!!! that has sold one too many dogs. Next time I go out in the woods, I will make sure to starch my shirt, make sure all my hunting buddies have their names monogramed on theirs, and dress my wife up like she is going to the club before cutting loose! Until then, put up or shut up - I got my hogs in the freezer - and we didn't strike them in open mesquite country!

What are you talking about? The sounds of pig squealing in the backgroud while they were doing an interview? or the time the pig squealed when the dog was on it? or the time the pig squealed when they grabbed it? Not sure what you are saying.....it's a show about pigs and hunting. We have pigs squealing while we are duck hunting 100 yards away in Branch all the time, we shoot to scare them off in the dark, but it doesn't work most of the time. If we go set up a camera and microphone on my farm an hour before dark, you can record that stuff all night. So what exactly are you saying?

The show was informative to the general public, but in my opinion made people that use dogs look like a bunch of idiots. I still can't get over the pink knife w/ glittering sparkles!!!! What a dunce!

Kill them all. No reason to catch them alive and transport them to another place.
Kill the pig, eat them.
I don't hunt for sport, I hunt to eat...

I was just saying, I understant that not everyone can run 1 dog or 2 or what ever! I've never hunted were you are located and i was just making a point, I dont understand what all the hate is about. Im a girl and yes I wear my fancy belt and look cute why because i want to, but I can and will run in and hold a big nasty boar down and stick it my self. I am very glad they looked nice, so that everyone that was watching is not laughing because they looked bad and giving all hog doggers a bad name. I thought they did a great job at making the sport look good with the nice clothes and pink bling.

I hope that Crystal isn't giving all the ladies that hog hunt a bad name. My husband and i hunt hogs all the time and i can manage just fine without a pink knife or a blingy belt! I think the texas group was a little more concerned with appearances than staying true to how hog hunting actually is. If my husband had fell down trying to pull a hog out of the bush i would be stepping in to grab it before it got him and not running the other way with my pretty pink knife and blingy belt. In Oklahoma hunting is thick and very rarely do we bay up in the open much less find a hog just standing in the open in the middle of the day...we gotta go to the hogs and the hogs like thickets. Heard that texas has some monsters though.

Kutter: you, your husband, and your dogs are welcome with us anytime! I would say what my wife said when she saw that exact thing, but I would get banned from here......not that she talks like a sailor or anything!
