I helped Capt Rob Dupont with a two boat bachelor party Saturday morning. The crew wanted to give it a shot no matter what, so we gave it our best. We knew we had a window in the morning (calm before the storm). Unfortunately the front arrived earlier than expected, giving us only about one hour of calmness! The plan was to catch trout early then hit the deep holes for Bulls once the wind picked up. To my surprise, we actually got on a slow bite after the wind picked up. Some nice fat trout actually hit the K2 in 25-30mph winds. Once the water turned Willie Wonka Chocolate, the trout bite was done. We turned to shrimp on the bottom, then cracked crabs on the bottom. With the wind blowing a steady 30mph, the big temperature drop, and the fish in lock jaw mode....we were dock bound. Green Hornet Matrix and Purple Haze Vortex accounted for all of our fish. Thanks Capt Rob for putting the trip together.
Hope everyone had a safe and Happy Easter.
