Default Vernon Lake 6/12/11

Well, we made another trip to vernon lake. We left Rosepine at around 3:30pm and was in the water by 4:20 ish pm. We ran north to a few islands in the lake and picked up a few keepers. Then the wind was starting to pick up and we went into a cove on the west side of the lake and I hung a spotted cat on a crankbait (pic attached). Nothing else biting in the cove. The wind died down a little and we ran to our honey hole. Right at dark the schoolie bass started hammering small shad and minners. I was throwing a super spook in chrome with orange throat and BoHunterBiff was throwing a zara pup and the bass were slamming it out of the water a good 4-5'. Dark was setting in and there were around 8 boats fishing brush piles for white perch's. We ran to the rocks on the south end of the spillway and tried there, but all that was eating were garfish. We called it a day around 8:45pm. All in all we kept 7 bass. Smallest was 1.5 lbs and the biggest one was around 3. Big thanks to Bohunterbiff for getting me out of the house and an awesome day on the lake.

Also, BoHunterBiff will never bring a fish to the livewell again. I hung a solid 2 lb bass and took it off the hook. He comes from the bow, all the way to the stern and grabs my fish to put it in the live well. He steps to the front of the boat and the fish jolts right out of his hands and into the water.
