Default John Bel showing his true colors

John Bel Edwards is showing his true colors already... I was really really torn on who to vote for because I didn't like Vitter as a man and thought John Bel was probably more honest. But at the last minute I pulled the lever for Vitter(while holding my nose) because I knew in the end that Edwards would support the furtherment of the Democrat platform.

And it's only beginning, wait until he actually is inaugurated. Look for higher gasoline taxes "after all, gas is cheap right now, right?"; more union actions will be initiated; the Stelley taxes (or something similar) will be instituted. Just like Obama, once the camel gets his nose under the tent, etc., etc., etc.

You can thank the Republicans for this one. They polluted the field with too many candidates that they had to tear each other apart just to make it to the runoff against the lone Democrat in the race. All JBE had to do was sit back and watch his opponents destroy any shred of credibility any of them had during the primary and waltz to a victory....... Basically like what is going to happen in the presidential election. Mark my words. Hillary will be our next president.

Had Louisiana Republicans gotten off of their moral high horse and dumped the reformed Democrat and the turncoat and rallied behind the only true conservative up there, we would have been much better off. But they just couldn't forgive his infidelity despite the fact his wife did. Now we will be in for one Hell of a ride over the next 4 years...... Always vote with your wallet folks.

Had Vitter not been the Top Repub in the primary, JBE might not have won.

I'm not going to blame people for voting with a conscious. If you don't have morals and stick to them, well, then you're no better off than the damn politicians. They vote all the time with their wallets, and look what this country is. Yeah, this might bite us in the ***, but this country is turning into a giant joke. Every Republican up there is up there for one reason: themselves. Trump may be the only one up there for the people. There is no reason for 12 people to run if they all actually stood for the same thing. But they don't. They stand for themselves. They all want to be the one to fix the country.

And all that is going to get us is socialism in the end, because none of them will win. Plus, the country is going to hell in a handbasket. Everyone wants a free handout. No one wants to work for anything anymore.

The American Dream is dead. It's all about the handouts fellas. Welcome to the new world.

Since Star Wars is the thing right now, I feel a quote from one of the prequels is fitting. I may paraphrase this a bit:

"So this is how liberty dies...with thunderous applause."

I really don't believe any of them would have won against Edwards in the runoff. He played his cards perfect. The other candidates did the hard part for him. All he had to do was sit back and not look too liberal. I will say we didn't have much to chose from with any of the candidates. We had $h!+ and $h!+ with sprinkles. That's what a two party system has given us.

There is a big difference between a me voting with my wallet and a politician voting with his. I expect my vote to save me money. He expects his to make him money. Every politician, regardless of party, is there for one reason: themselves. Do you honestly think those Democrats in Washington give a damn about their poor constituents? All they care about is getting their vote. And thus was born the Free $h!+ society we live in today. What was LBJ's quote on voting Democrat for the next 200 years?

I can give a damn who fixes this country, just as long as it's fixed. JBE's promise before he's even sworn in to remove the work requirement on SNAP benefits only proves that he'll drag us down even farther than what Jindal has. The right candidate was elected for those who want a handout.

The American Dram isn't dead yet, but it does have one foot in the grave and another on a bannana peel. The fact that a self proclaimed Socialist is even remotely relative in the presidential debate is a sad testament to what America has become.

I've never watched Star Wars, so I have no rebuttal. lol

well Hillary cant claim to not be a liberal extremist unless a devote communist is the only other choice so she is a moderate by comparison when those are the only two choices

Just wait until Charlie Melancon, Edwards appointment to run the Wildlife and Fisheries Commission, gets through. He is going to set the Commission back years!!!! The only possible saving grace is that the Rep's still have a majority in the Legislature. Oh, and get ready to pay more taxes.

I do blame those that so called "stuck to their morals" and either did not vote, or voted for Edwards. I'm a Christian and very conservative, but when someone is contrite, asks for forgiveness and shows they have repented, then my Bible tells me to forgive, or I will not be forgiven. People on their so called high horse are allowing this country to be ruined because their candidate is not as perfect as they think they are. That is why we have Obama for 2 terms who promised to "Fundamentally Change America". I'm not mad anymore...I laugh at this stuff now because I see where we're heading and can't change it. I just hope those that took their moral road, are able to suffer the most when the piper is to be paid.

If you believe that is why we got Obama for 2 terms, I've got some beach front property in Montana for you.

Obama got in twice because all the good for nothings turned out to vote for one of their own. Well, and all the dead people voting for him.

Sure, Repubs not showing up to vote doesn't help, but the bottom feeders showing up did this country in.

Smalls: You make the point... the bottom feeders, as you call them, voted. 42% of the Evangelicals did not vote, and some of the 58% that did, voted for obama, because he was black and they feel guilty for being white, so it made them feel better about themselves. Many did not vote for Romney because he was mormon. Its hard to beat democrats when they play Santa Clause, and is why conservative politicians and voters need to get their act straight and quit destroying our own candidates. And VOTE for the most conservative when given the choice and don't stay home. I've got friends that usually vote conservative vote for edwards only because Vitter cheated on his wife. They didn't realize how long ago it was, they just listened to the tv instead of researching. By the way, how much per acre?
