Default East vs. West Banks of BL

I'll be looking to do fishing for reds here in the next couple of weeks at Big Lake. I've fished the Hackberry side several times in the summer with decent luck (mostly bc of the size of boat -17' xpress), and have never fished the east side. How does the fishing compare at this time of year on each side? I was thinking of just moving along the banks and trying out some of the reefs. All input appreciated.

I work at a dock on the ship channel just north of the jetties. the water right now looks like chocolate milk and is pretty rough. sw winds of 25-28 mph. we fished the west bank and several places in the channel last monday with no luck. just a few weeks ago we hit the west bank near the south end and picked up 4 nice reds.
