Default The Sabine River around burnt bridge

Does anybody know about the current water conditions around this area? Going to try to head out there next week, but I didn't know if things had gotten back to normal after the high water!

Also, does anybody ever mess with "Phoenix Lake"? Thought it may be productive during the pre-spawn/spawn time?

I haven't fished around Phoenix Lake since last fall as my target areas are from the BOB and north up the river...

Stick to the right, hugging that bank when going around the lake... There are a couple of cuts back there and the water can get real pretty...

Lots of guys will fish the mouth and entrance where it hits the river...

Good luck and post some results !

Wow thanks for the report! Looks like Toledo is winning for this week! Lol

Hydro, do you (or any u know of) fish the old pilings of the burnt bridge itself? Or just run the channel?

There was a tourney out of that ramp on saturday. I was not there but was told that a few stringers in the 12lb range were brought in.

I will and have thrown at them... Mostly we head back to the east fishing the marsh intersections and fish our way out of the main canal...

Gotcha...just looks like one of those places where one would be on every other piling. Did better fishing down the whole channel in the past than I thought I would. There's a square pond of sorts that shallows up on the way out...caught some in there. Seems an obvious place, which I usually pass up cuz they get fished hard! But we caught a few outta there.

Anyway went to the bend instead and it was tough but ill post a report later. When do y'all typically see the fish move up shallower on the sabine? Same time as calcasieu? I took it for granted that calcasieu already had plenty of shallow fish but I haven't spent any time on it with the water like its been. Nasty!
