Default selling a boat?

i have a 16/48 semi vee with a tohatsu 40 tldi i'm about to put up for sale. i'm debating on spending money on a jack plate before i put it up for sale. my thoughts are that it would help sell the rig vs. just having the motor directly on the transom. i was curious if y'all thought i would get my $140 (cost of jack plate) back in the sell and would it help sell the rig. thanks

I wouldn't, but that is just me.

Try it without first.

Yep, what he said. It involves more than just drilling 4 holes and bolting the jacklate on. If you don't spend the hours to properly set the rig up after installing a jackplate, it may hinder a sale. If both rigs were equal, I personally would buy the rig with no jackplate, it shows that you most likely did not marsh fish much.

i'm going to ask $6,950. it's in awesome condition. it's a 16/48 weldbilt semi vee, 40 hp tohatsu tldi, 65# minn kota. i traded for this boat a while back and have never put it in the water. i painted and rewired the boat, and it looks brand new. after i put all of this time and effort into, i decided to get a bay boat. i haven't even put the motor on it yet. i will soon, and when i do, i'll list in the classidieds with pics.
