Bow season opens October 1st. That will pretty much take me out of it but you gotta do what you can to get the most people involved.

Well it comes down if you can sacrifice one day of bow hunting for a good cause in OCT...... This is the only thing about late year fishing is Hunting...... Im a big Duck Hunter myself but Nov is way to late for fishing with the start of cold fronts pushing down.....

I think Oct will bring a good or better crowed as Big Lake did..... Two days at most you will have to give the Fri and Sat or if you live close the Sat to fish......

Most will already have a week or two of bow hunting under there belt and Im not worried about squirrel season as that last until Feb.......

I agree (never thought I'd say that). It's not like you're skipping a weekend of bow hunting for something useless or something you can't believe you're doing. It's to have a great time with a great group of people for an even greater cause! I'll gladly miss a weekend of sweating in a deer stand, swatting mosquitoes away & maybe seeing a couple of deer to participate in this weekend get together. Maybe that's just the way I see it but bow season lasts til the end of January so we will still have 3 months to get in the woods and try to stick a deer.

lake p is hard fishing in sept/oct. gi is more family friendly and gives more options to fish ( marsh and open water and hell even roadside for those who dont got a boat) i think it should be in grand isle and you can trailer your boat to surrounding water ie fourchon leeville ect... it will attract more people this way which meens more money for the charity.. regardless of where it is held you can count me in!!

Hands down, it would be GI because of the atmosphere of the island. It would also beat sleeping in your boat with a riot gun in order to keep it in any parking lot around the big sleezy. Be a Biotch totin all those 225's into the room for safe keeping.

There is a hotel/camp/RV park right next to the Gulf Stream launch.
Nothing fancy, and they have a dock to keep the boat in the water.
Gulf Stream has docks you can keep the boat in the water also.

We stayed at one of the camps down Tiger Lane across Hwy 1 from Elmer's Island for the 4th of July last year and it was nice. All the camps there are on the water and you can leave the boat in front of the camp.
