Default Toledo Suggestions?

Headin to Toledo this weekend for a bass club tounament. I havnt been up there since last year. Does anyone know any good spots going from the Big Bass Marina area that I can try. Or tips on what to look for? Techniques? Any advice is much appreciated. Cant wait to get out there.

Cory, keep a red lipless crankbait tied on.. i had 2 guys catch one over 7 last weekend on a red one-knocker and last week i had 4 reports on a red 'trap.. an 8lb, 2 9lbers and a 10lber! it's gettin a little late for the trap bite and it will die off soon, but i'm goin up this weekens too and u can bet ur *** i'll have one on and will be keeping it wet! these trap fish are coming from 10' - 4' of water, pullin it fast and sharply ripping it from the grass.

if u get sick of tossing a 'trap, go to old faithful for this time of year... the trusty carolina rig. toss big baits this time of year on the c-rig, as the bass are agressive and the big bait gets their attention in a hurry. top c-rig baits right now include - 8" mag lizard in w. red and w. candy red, brush hogs in the same colors and centipedes or french-fry type baits.

and if u cant bring yourself to drag that ol c-rig aroung u can always fall back and use the weightless soft plastics like a fluke, senko and wacky worms. they are catching alot of buck bass on that stuff in super-shallow water 0'-4'.

and hey, i'd fish big bass itself. u know that they have a bunch of tourneys held out of there this time of year.. well they release those fish right there too!! seriously.. big fish dont always leave when u release them... alot of times they will just pull up to the closest good cover and bully the smaller fish who lives theretill it leaves. i'd try the 2 longest coves on the north side of big bass and that flat out in front of big bass.

hope that helps ya Cory. if ya want some more in-depth help on tips and map help, stop by the tackle box in sulphur and say hey.. i aint seen ya in awhile anyways.. i'd enjoy the visit.
