Gasoline works for me. You may need to replace the wheel hub seals.

Brake parts cleaner. Buy the cheapest one cause you will use about 4 cans on two hubs. And a bunch if rags.

Gunk brand foaming engine cleaner, there are a couple of different types so look for the strongest one... May take a couple of applications...

I've done this a lot working on trailers @ my dads buddy's boat shop for extra money as a kid.
Get a good size pan put a half gallon of diesel in it an old rag an scotchbrite pad and give em a bath! The diesel goes a long way @ $3.50 a gal.! They'll come clean! |

Toilet bowl cleaner, scrub brush, and pressure washer. Try not to get it on you, it will burn.. But it will clean.. Don't get it on aluminum fenders, cement, or anything else u may not want discolored. Worked great on my galvanized wheels..
