Cheers Wife has a crazy idea or no???

Okay I'm in the market for a new boat. I'm looking for something to fish in marsh island an aroun vermillion bay.

I like the sea chasers, pathfinders, some key west, ya kno like a good heavy fiberglass boat.

We'll she wants to get a pontoon boat with a 250 yamaha 4 stroke! An two power poles, an a trolling motor. She likes the room the storage an the short covered top.

I have no clue how this boat will hold up to vbay which is a bi*** most of the time. I don't believe they draft much water but idk just don't think it's practical.

What do you guys think I need some feedback! Thanks an tight lines!!!

Stay away from a pontoon boat if u want to fish the bay. It does not take long for it to get rough when the wind kicks up.

Fishing from a pontoon boat will negatively impact your relationship with your family. Plus, as quick as the bay can get nasty, you might have to get rescued...

Nautic Star makes a boat called a 210 coastal, kind of a hybrid type bay boat that can maybe work for you and the wife. Go to Nauticstarboats.com

shallow.jpgGo with a cat hull....has 2 hulls with plenty of room just like a pontoon boat! Notice how shallow that boat can go in!

I've seen pontoon boats at the wier down the worm in Marsh Island. Looked like a great time for the whole family, crabbing and fishing. Maybe you could get one of those tri-pontoon boats. They seem to be much higher performance than the regular two pontoon ones.
