Default V Bay 12/6

Hit the water wit a thick fog this morning. Fished the cove for a bit since it was thick, nothing... went around the point to the hammock, nothing. Made the run to the east end of marsh island with low visibility. Glad we did, caught alot of fish, reds, trout, black drum, flounder.

ended up taking home 14 trout and 4 reds. Pics below are the ones that were too big to keep.

Thanks fellas, The first red in the fog almost Pulled Tanya out the boat. She set the hook expecting a speck and that red headed out!

It was a great trip made better by having Mom in the boat and catching a majority of the fish. We even had another red straighten a hook. She is still stoked that she caught such big fish. A great memory.

Nice catch! My dad and I went Friday but only caught 2 specks. Seems like the story of my life is "you should have been here yesterday" lol

I'm learning fishing V bay is alot like real estate...location...location...location.

I hit weeks bay Friday and it was tough.

Saturday the LDWF Creel guy was out. He said 2 boats had their limit but most boats brought in 8-10 specs. That's when I knew I made the right choice but it was not without peril. It took an 8 mile run in thick fog while the wife was poo-pooin. It was nerve racking to say the least. I would not recommend that type of run for anyone not 100% confident in their equipment and navigational skills.

Respect to the old timers.

there was some mad fog out there for sure! We were out there. Ended up with 41 real nice trout, several over 20". Bite didn't really heat up until 12:30 for us. Hopefully this cool weather doesn't kill the bite again.

Jim & I fished The Cove, The Hammock & Shark Bayou on Monday, in 10 to 15 MPH NNW winds. Kept (1) nice red & (3) nice trout. Tide +1.5 to -1.0, Sal. 6.0. Due to the high winds, the fishing area was limited.
