Y'all are saying *&ck lacassine and Sabine but quick question. If people can't find a blind for under 10k where would you point us to? I'd love to get on a lease somewheres but 10k is a little out of my $ range.

They are telling you to hang it up, duck/goose hunting should be religated to the upper crust of society. Hence the statement "Gentlemens Gun Dog" advertisements in the magazines. The NWR,Sabine/Laccasine are already divided by units and it wouldn't be very hard to design a lottery system draw prior to the season based on acreage and carrying capacity of each unit. Sabine has <100,000 ac, it could easily support every hunter who wants to hunt with better results for all with a system. Laccasine already has a lottery for geezers on the Streetrr Unit so I don't see why it couldn't work refuge wide.

I agree Raymond. But a few people are saying funds are too low to create this. If anyone has hunted streeters canal they have been doing work at the observing area since the end of fishing season. They have several marsh ho's, dozers, fuel and obviously man power to operate these things. So why wouldn't they try something for a better hunting place vs just looking at them?

Hell no. Ain't no birds on the river. Biggest waste of your time. Too many *** clowns and not enough birds. Done with it until 2nd split.
Buddy found one pond in Lacassine secluded from the rest, zero hunters in the area and the mallards are plentiful. Hittin Lacassine in the morning. Wohooooo!!

It all boils down to the fact that (like EVERYTHING else in the world) things that were designed and put in place to be a great opportunity for people, are going to be ruined and taken away b/c of the ones that take advantage, disrespect, and act like jacka**es. Think about how many things we have suffer with in this world b/c it was ruined by idiots.

I hunt a lease now and we kill birds, but most of the time its a struggle, and thats fine by me b/c I dont have the patience or will power to deal with the b/s. Its not why I hunt. I hunt to b/c its what I love to do, it relieves stress for me, etc, but sometimes it quite simply becomes more drama/stress/bullcrap then its worth on public land

We (middle class) have NO voice, and our opinions dont matter to someone who works behind a deck in D.C. and that holds true in this situation as well

There's plenty of leases for under 10k that kill birds you just gotta put some work in finding them. I've seen some pretty good schoolboard leases that nobody bid on.

I had a lease in grand chenier but it was off the tide and hardly ever had water. How/where are these thing held to be able to bid on them. And as for calcasieu the only spots of know of are on the left and right side of the bridge. Haven't scouted it this year but sounds like I need to. Thanks for the advice.
