Most trailers come with 30 gal. water heaters. Jordan, check the breaker and see if it is a double breaker or a single breaker. If double, you have a 240 volt water heater. If single breaker, you have a 120 volt water heater. |

Water heater is going to be waaaay cheaper than me training a dog Pookie. I'll give you a call though, right after I take my 30 minute shower.

I'm going back with my original advice, shower together. That way you might get a little hot water before it goes to lukewarm. After your shower tonight, if it's not raining, kill the breaker and drain some water from the bottom of the tank and see if you get a bunch of sludge. That could fix your problem, but it has never worked for me. If you have a 30 gallon tank, carefully disconnect the bottom element and see if it is good (You are going to need a multimeter to check its resistance). It might not be that big of a deal to change it. Definitely the cheapest option. Little projects like that sometimes become all day projects. I like going to the repair parts store with the broken part in my hand and all the make, model, and serial number information that I can find. Good luck my friend, keep us posted.

If it's a larger water heater and it doesn't last long then I agree with gottago49. Check the size before you buy a new one. You could save a lot of money if it is a heating element out. Very easy to change also.

Why would you want to heat hot water? just asking

If'n I was home, I'd go up there and fix it for you.
I got another week offshore. If you have a way to drain it, turn off the breaker and water, drain it(you will have to vent the relief valve so it will drain). Fill again and drain again. Be sure to use a hose and run outside. If would be best if you took it out to drain so you could shake it some. It is 120 volts. Those take a while to heat water.. If you suffer another week, I can go up there and check everything out. It probably has only 1 element if it is 120 volt. |
