Default Toledo Bend 4/29

Tough day on the bend hunting for crappie.

Day started completely fogged in at pirates cove, we were slow trolling 1/16 and 1/8 jigs black & chart, acid rain, and blue and white. Picked up 2-3 early with the a couple bass and a shellcracker thrown in.

Action slowed down a bit for us and we half switched to bass fishing / throwing out crickets to try and find some more shellcrackers.

No luck on that. Relocated to another point and continued trolling found fish holding in 3 different spots basically spent the next couple hours trolling back and forth to those spots.

ended up with 28 total.

No great size to them, but the will end up stinking up the oil just fine.

On a side note we ended up breaking my favorite baitcasting rod. I was a dumb**** and left it where it should not have been and when my buddy stepped of the front deck he tripped on it.

As you can see it broke exactly behind the reel seat (you can still clamp the reel down in it good.) And it seems to be a pretty clean break. Anyone know if this is something that is repairable? seems to me like if i could get something to fit into the graphite blank i could just clean up the break and epoxy the two parts back together.

drill both sides in center, tap both sides, put a threaded stud to screw them together, and epoxy and screw tight, let dry
