Default Rigs out of Cameron

Does anyone ever do any trolling around rigs just out of Cameron ones you can see from jettys? If so what can you expect to catch? Im never fished out there and wanting to try looking for some tips.

Catch trout and sand trout. Will catch some Spanish mackerel later in year but not much more. Hardheads and gafttop
Are usually bad at those rigs. Not really far enough out for trolling.

The rigs you can see from cameron are good for casting not trolling. You can expect specks, reds, drum, white trout, hardheads, and small sharks.

The key is get a good VHF and good VHF antenna. Not a cheep stainless whip. Have a knowledge of basic navigation with chart and compass without a gps. You never know what could happen to electronics offshore. Buy yourself some good offshore live vest. Pay attention to the weather and remember that a 30' boat can go down as easy as a 10'. I pretty much grew up fishing out of Cameron offshore. The fuel bill just took the fun out of fishing in my big boat.

WC171 produces... Troll balley's for Kings...

Run out all the way to the farewell bouy, look SW... The triple platform you see is it...

Easy run in a bayboat, did it allot out of my 22' Pathfinder... Just watch the weather and keep your head on straight... A good VHF can be a lifesaver, we always had a epirb on board as well...

Hit the bouys on the way home for Tripletail and Cobia...
