Default Snapper bait

Im new to offshore and planning a trip next weekend if weather is ok. What do yall use for snapper bait and do you catch fresh or take frozen, were do i get it if frozen or fresh ect. looking for some tips

GAspards on east side of lake. or Cajun Fast Mart in carlyss on west side of lake has offshore bait.

We keep cigar minnows and other assorted frozen and live bait at the tackle box in sulphur.

Frozen pogeys is all I ever use. Stop by some where that sail bait to crawfish fishermen instead of a dock. I pay 32$ for a 40 lb box. That is plenty for a couple of trips
