Default any spots being caught around Barataria?

Anyone having any luck around Barataria? I have hit nothing but small ones around Lake5. The Reds are as thick as sardins in every cove I turn into, but still looking for spots. I am starting to see birds working but not having any luck around them.

This girl was caught on a voodoo under a cork in 3' of water on Lake Laurier.

I put in at Myrtle Groove. Every where I have gone is either slam packed with reds or black drum. I did get some small spots in lake5, but nothing legal.

We launched out of Myrtle Grove this morning. Fished bay laurier and Racquette with not a single bite. We ended up catching one red in Wilkinson Canal on the way in. It was windy. Anyone have any luck recently??

we also had the same situation, not one hit all day. decided to stop about a 1/4 mile from Myrtle Grove and my wife landed on small red.

I was surprised that I did not even see any reds in the shallows, they must have moved off or it was due to the high tide and wind that kept them in a little deeper water.

they have been insane lately excpet for the one windy day I was out. I guess that is the only reason for liking a windy day

No luck at all, however I did see something...

This morning was the first morning that I have seen trout going after minnows in the shallows. I knew I should have stopped and tried them out, but I was on a mission to expand my knowledge of the area before the fishing really picks up. Headed for Wilkinson and Chene Bay's to see what was there.

It was at the mouth of one of the small off shoots between Myrtle Grove and the first set of camps in Wilkinson Canal on the East side. I figured the day was awesome and the weather was perfect so I would see the same thing where I was headed, no such luck.

Decided to take a late run to Lake Laurier this evening and glad that I did. Sorry no pics.

The water temp was 69° and the trout were hitting :-). All between 12" and 14" and lost a nice one. They were all caught under menhaden popping the top of the water. I was using twin Cocahoe Minnows the first one was about 12" below the popping cork and the second minnow was 24" below the cork. I tried throwing a single minnow with no luck. All in all 6 trout at the end of the day.

Cannot wait till the weekend gonna try Port Sulphur as I heard some nice ones have been caught recently.
