Smile Cocodrie BDay/Fathers Day Trip

Went down to Cocodrie with my dad and brother, Armand16, for the weekend. We woke up to a stiff breeze on Saturday morning and the fishing was slow until about 10 when we started to pick up fish in spurts. Ended up with our 75 trout after lunch and headed in.

Sunday, it was real calm so we started off in a new area to get away from crowds and have a more relaxing morning. We picked up about 20-25 nice trout, but the bite was just too slow for us so we headed to a spot I haven't been to in years. When we pulled up we had three fish hooked up on three different sides of the boat on our fist cast. Fishing was crazy for the next 30 minutes, we hit number 75 and left them biting. Headed in with slick calm seas and a bud light.

Had a great time this weekend. Almost saw a fight on the water and had multiple boats get within casting distance of our boat while we were on fish. There was a guide who got close enough to cast into our boat. Crazy what some people think is acceptable.

Nice trip!

Cocodrie is such a nice place to fish. There are so many spots, there is always enough places to fish that you can have a plan B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I, etc..if your first spot doesn't go as planned. Or if some a-holes mess up your spot.

I had to call a guy off Sat. He was coming straight at me. When I told him something he said we going over there which was right across where I was catching. This was after he made several moves and was casting and fishing in-between mine and my BIL corks. Some people have no common sense.

Was it a skeeter? Was working some birds alone off the beach catching Keeper sized Trout. Had a skeeter drive right thru the middle of them wide open. Killed the bite he had the entire gulf to go around but decided to much trouble I guess, no big deal but I will remember that boat.

NICE bag O fish!

how do you keep up with numbers like that? " do we have 73, 74, 75?

Been thinking about getting a grease pencil to mark hash marks on my windshield, as to keep track. (they will wash off easy)

Clicker is easiest way or count when you think you getting close. Sometimes you forget to click when it's fast and furious.

24ft blazer bay with a lot of stickers. One being a "Go Bears" sticker.

Its a Pitch counter...so any Sports store that sells baseball equipment should have them. Make sure to take them off of the boat each time. They don't last long at all with the salt.
