Is there a way to remove that paint without damaging the rims? |

Goof off. Not your kids. A product called good off. But spray paint is tough to remove. Maybe a graffiti remover.

the faster you try to remove the better. Some strong hand cleaners will remove paint that hasn't cured. Pressure washer ...test first and go easy. Only use enough pressure to cut new paint. A friend had this happen in his house ...3 yr old with magic marker mural on new house.

What kind of rims do you have? I would start with a product like goof off on a rag and then move up to a "hotter" product if it doesn't work. Non acetone nail polish remover, brake cleaner, then maybe lacquer thinner or acetone or mek or xylene. Check on a small spot first as the hotter ones may take off the existing finish too.

Also, don't forget the old standby, WD40. As stated above, the faster, the better.

If all else fails, sand blast and powder coat them!

If they are factory wheels, then they are either clear coated with epoxy or clear powder coat. You are safe to use lacquer thinner as long as you keep moving around. Don't let the rag sit on it. Then come back with a mild rubbing compound or swirl remover glaze to finish it off and polish it up. We see this often in the body shop business.

Airplane paint remover. Took spray paint off of a brick wall no problem. Bought it at an aviation place in Laffy on Surrey street. Falcon I think is the name of the place. Call them and see what they say.

Aircraft paint remover will eat the original coating off the wheel. Then it would cost a minimum of $125 per wheel to recoat them.

I was going to say WD40 as well. Depending how thick it is on.
