where is some spots to catch finger mullet early a.m. before heading offshore? anywhere else besides pogey plant and jetties?? thanks for any info!

usually a crap ton on the bank at channel marker 56 on the ;ake side and the channel side

where r u launching? If you are launching north then to the south entrance to Joe's cove in Hackberry -- usually loaded. go through the cut and then cast net the south side of the cut. There's a little ditch running back. if you pull up there they will be coming from the south bank along the shoreline. usually get 10-15 per cast.

thanks i didnt know that about joes cove... that really helps beings that i wont have to run further south to catch bait

The cuts in the rocks at the Cameron Jettys usually hold finger mullet.
The South end of the Pogy plant does also, but not as many.
