Default Aren't we all Pot Lickers?

I was just wondering what is your take on the definition of a pot licker? I know most of the spots I've learned to fish over the years have come from somewhere, someone, at sometime... I didn't just "Discover" these spots...

How long after fishing a spot that someone else showed to you can you lose the label of a pot Licker and it becomes your spot that some can pot lick off of?

All of you guides talk amongst yourselves as well... doesn't that make us all pot lickers??

Don't respond too quick... let me get my popcorn...

There have been some spots people have showed me but I have found some really good spots myself. Not saying I'm the only person to ever fish those spots. But looking at the layout out of the land, currents, and experience fishing those areas is what led me to believ they held fish...and they did.

A potlicker by my definition is some one who just comes rolling up in a spot just because you are there. It is obvious they have no clue why or how you are fishing there. Prime example is the guy on friday who came in on his big motor 100 yds in front of our drift put the powerpole down as soon as he started hitting oysters with his prop and started fishing. We were drifting a bank in around 1.2ft of water. Never used his hood ornament aka trolling motor once.

I like your definition Bob. Seems there are very few secret spots out there anymore that you can consider your own spot! Someone is gonna see you out there and curiosity will bring wandering fishermen to you. Now a days with GPS you can forget off bank spots being unknown. Bring back the days of no gps!

Potlickers are people who think there are secret spots that catch fish every time someone goes out, in the same spot.
****heads are the fishermen who pull up on you with the big engine when they see you with a fish on the line.

Wasn't me... T-Top is in shop for repairs and trailer is at Clark spring getting new torsion axles, hubs, wheels and tires... No fishing for me, unless I'm hitching a ride with someone..

W you talk about respecting people on the water but had none for me during the redfish tourney. You stooped to ask if we were catching then jumped on plane. ***. At least pass me up first.

I only stopped out of respect
. When your anchored in middle of a right of way channel I don't even have to slow down
.
But next time I will just keep it gassed
