Default Wildlife in the flood!

Went pick up my boat in Dularge this morning to go check a location for a client (ok, I just wanted to get paid to get my boat back home!) out in St. Mary Parish. On the way to the location, I see 4 deer and right after them came a coon all swimming to higher ground!

How in the world do they know to get out?????? Afterall, they still had dry land where they came from, but won't for much longer. I mean do the deer and coons have secret powers, or do they catch Fox News like us? Makes me think!

Animals know when bad times are on the way. Also I think there smart enough not to believe what they see on Fox News.

Great pics, animals know when something bad is coming, only difference between Foxnews and the other media, the other media would have said you didn't see a thing.

I travel the 4 mile bridge across the spillway on hwy 190 everyday.
Today I saw several deer and turkey and they haven't even opened the spillway yet.

They said that before the Tsunami hit India(it was India huh?) that animals were headin north, including birds and no body really paid a whole lot of attention to it.Even their pet elephants were goin nuts tryin to get away!Maybe we should learn to watch the warnings God sends instead of news!

My father-n-law lives in gc and said that 2 days before rita hit he doesn't remember seeing any birds like he usually sees. He had some bird feeders and no black birds, doves etc. He said even the seagulls and herons had left. It's funny how they just know something ain't right and leave. Also rockefellar refuge had some deer with transmitters on them and before the storm the were tracking them in rayne.

I had heard the same thing but didn't think it was true. These animals I photographed did not look stressed at all. Once they got out on the other side, they stood there and looked around the levee, then casually walked off. We also saw about 20 hogs from Hwy 90. I think I will get my biologist buddy and grab the thermal scopes and go take some out during the high water.
