Ok. Guys.. I'm moving into a rental house in about 7 days... I don't want to get my Cox cable installed there.. (I'm looking at houses to buy).. I have a Hotspot I can watch most stuff on project free TV on the internet.

Can U all recommend a basic Digital Antenna(or what are u all using that don't have cable or direct TV) so I can watch the news and programing on local channels?? I also have netflix.

I'd like t oget the morning new and watch a few shows on local Channels etc..

Thanks

Gunner

Any basic HD antenna will do the job. But the larger outdoor style one's will do a better job catching station further away.

The basic type you get for $10-$50 only catch channels within about 50 miles. In Lake Charles I can catch FOX and NBC because KPLC and KVHP are both based here. I can not catch ABC-KBMT (Beaumont) or CBS-KLFY (Lafayette) on my $50 antenna.

if you have internet and it is decent you can order a jail broken fire stick and get all channels free.

another option is something like PlayStation Vue which is just like cable but around $30.00 a month

I cut the cable a while back and got an antenna for local channels and bumped up my Internet speed.
Fire Stick is from Amazon and with Kodi on it there is unlimited amounts of shows, movies and anything else you can think of. It runs off the internet with a wireless router. It does use up some bandwidth.
Simple to install (hack) with kodi.

All you need is a basic antennae. Remember, the distance to a station is a very important factor in what channels you will catch. Start here by entering your address, http://www.antennaweb.org/Address), It will tell you how far away TV stations are and what size antennae you will need. You can get from 30-150 mile. My buddy just put this one up, https://www.walmart.com/ip/Channel-M...tenna/13968946, he catches 36 channels and he lives in Chackbay. Has it mounted about 12' on the outside of a metal building.

Also most of your big stations broadcast out with 3 channels. For instance WWL out of New Orleans has 4.1, 4.2, and 4.3. If you plan on using your mobile data to watch TV I hope you have an unlimited data plan. Watching TV uses up a lot of data.
