i talked to a dealer today and they said to stay away from the verado on these boats as it is the wrong application. they said the SHO has the best hole shot, but at the end of the day the Optimax is the faster motor. they were putting a 200 SHO on a 23ft bigfoot guide boat which i think is under powered, but this guy is a big wade fisherman, so i don't guess speed is of the essence.

one of the big lake guys has a 23 bigfoot with a 225 opti, he told me it would run mid 50's which is impressive for a tunnel boat.

My 23'LS with a Merc 250XS will do 65 loaded to the hilt and I have not even started playing with props. I would think a F225 would push a 24' HO just fine.

You better invest in a crash helmet and a kidney belt. Last time I saw you in the ship channel there was ally of daylight under yo boat!
