Default 13 year old flying

My 13 year old........who flies every summer to his Grandparents in Oklahoma .......has to fly alone this year.....no help from the airlines.....

for some reason this bothers the heck out of me

You guys think this is too young?
He is a very sound headed kid......handles the boat at the ramp and such.....mature for his age....
but is a tiny little dude......80 pounds......

Scares the be-Jesus out of me

I wouldn't really be worried much. unless he has a layover, then I may be concerned a lil. but I mean you gonna see him get on the plane and his grandparents are gonna be waiting when he gets off. no real worries. unless he has a layover then I may be worried a little

I'm sure he'll do just fine.

What part of Oklahoma is he headed to?

I think he would be alright. Why won't the airline assist him?

They say he is now considered a "young adult"

Wow, that's amazing. I could see if they would say that about a 16 year old but not 13.

geez at 13 he's considerend an adult when you can't even buy a beer at 18...

i think that he'll still be able to find some help if he needs. As long as he's confident about the trip, he should be fine.

Since he has made the trip before......I don't think you should have a problem.

There usually are plenty of places / people that he can ask for help, if needed.

I flew some at 13 yr old by myself.....but that was many many years ago.

He should be fine. I was on planes all day yesterday. If he can read enough to find his gate, they know where he is the whole time after the ticket is scanned. Make sure he has an I.D and a copy of his birth certificate
