With SAV like Wigeon grass you can just idle through the pond pulling a rake with short tines on it. When it gets full just flip it into your container. Your starting pretty late in the growing season for it to spread but if the turbidity and salinity arn't too bad it should do ok.

If ya got widgeon grass already in that pond just go and add fertilizer to it. We use a 20/6/6 at this time of year. Throw out some ozmicote around your blind to promote natural growth.

Couldn't this just increase the turbidity by increasing plankton?

I've never noticed increase in turbidity when we fertilize. Turbidity will kill grass if it stays for a length of time.
