Road to the Rock?

Does anyone know how far along the repaving of the road from Kaplan to Forked Island is? Do you still have to take a detour?

God that's going to be nice when they get that finished. That road is responsible for quite a few loose screws on my rig.

It won't be threw until next yr or the yr after as they are replacing three bridges on that span of road.

I had heard 8 months but you know how accurate those predictions are

Take LA 82 south down all the way to follow all signs of LA 82 headed toward Forked Island from Esther (before going to Intracoastal City) if you're coming in from Abbeville.

If you want to get rid of LA 35 between LA 335/35 and LA 82/35 in Forked Island due to repaving of the road, take a detour to follow the direction as I stated.

It's about 8 miles between Suire's store (LA 335/35) in Kaplan to Forked Island.

Say what? I took 82 out of Abbeville this trip, but I don't know what he means by "take a detour to follow the direction as I stated".

coming from rayne on hwy 35s turn left on lemaire st (truck route) in kaplan, go past the gulfway marine about 1.5miles and turn right on Alton rd. At stop sign take a left on pecan rd, all the way to hwy 335 take a left. follow until you get to hwy 35 take a right...back on track

Suire's is the bomb!!!!! Thanks for reminding me about that place!!!!!! Time for me to make a road trip. I absolutely love that place. You eat there much?

Yeah, that's the way I go, but I recently read that one of the bridges on 82, (maybe the one over the Verm, just South of Abbeville--not sure) will also soon close for road work.
