Verm 151 had 2-3's after lunch and wind was laying down. It better or my boat will be going back on trailer in the morning - not worth it!

Who's going out if freshwater on Saturday? Tossing around a late morning trip and just goin out for a few hours instead of an all day affair. My six year old is chomping at the bit to go out on his first rig hopping trip.

I fished Friday with Tute Dur.. We went out of Rollover.. Stopped @ the weirs.. Couldn't get a lot of live or fresh bait..

Cleared rollover.. Seas predicted 1'.. WRONG.. 2-4' and 4' out of the west, mostly ALL DAY GOING AND COMING IN..

Got to where we had caught dome really nice snaps doing week.. Of course with a west wind the nw corner of the platform that I had skull dugged them .. Was out of the question.

Well hooked up down current.. Started marking some nice fish.. First drop. no bait coming up..

ON third drop, big hit.. Set the hook and wham off to south of the platform. I'm thinking big ling..

Well after 5 minutes, Layne sinks the gaff into a 38-40# king..

Well back to business. After about 5 more drops.. Tap, Tap, Tap. Set hook up coming a nice 10# snap..

We get 2 nice snaps in boat.. then they stop... Tried up current on all sides of rig..

We moved but only caught some small snaps.. Several being legal .. But thinking we are going to catch some larger ones, we toss then back..

Well we decide to head further south.. I point the FinChaser South.. We fished in 95-100' of water .. Verm 161, 163, 164.. Nothing.. But triggers and not even any small snaps..

Ran over 115 miles RT.. For 2 nice snaps and one king..

Water was just a dark green all day.. Of course with the west wind howling rollover was a nice site @ 5 pm...

I stayed More wet Friday then I did Sat. Diving..

That is why they call it fishing and not catching I guess..

Taking a brake for a few days to heal up after Friday and Sat., making 3 recertification check out dives.. I'm a little worn out..

PS. Layne went with a friend out of Rockefeller Sat.. And smashed them.. He texted that that ran 68 miles into blue water..
