Tigre Lagoon Vermilion Bay

I fished it once about 6 years ago, had a duck lease close by, anyway, really shallow, however it was in the fall and the tides were running lower, plus there was a north wind if I remeber right. Can't say I've heard of anyone catching in there, but I've been wrong once before so you never know! LOL When in doubt - Idle slow! that way you can still back up. Good luck if you go.

shallow
i have never been in it from the bay side, but the canal going in from the intracoastal is extremely shallow, i have caught a redfish in the canal going in but never made it into tiger lagoon itself, though i have heard of people fishing it and catching a few reds but you have to know where you are going, or like muddrunner said take your time so you don't run up on a mud flat, or if you have a mud motor to scout it out let me know how you do

I have a 12ft flat with a 6hp so I'm thinking of doing some scouting, maybe that's where all of the fish are that's why no ones been catching in the bay lol jk

Yes shallow it is, but i dont think apache should be able to keep any one out of there, that is not a man made water way, but i am not in politics

I though tigre lagoon was private land that is why they have all the posted signs all over.

I thought being a natural waterway affected by the tides meant it was public waters, but i am no expert nor am i a politition so i could be wrong

Yep, Tigre Lagoon is VERY shallow even on high tide. Passed through it plenty times but always trimmed up and hammered down. Actually got to it a few times where you would actually have to climb up the mud from the channel to get to the bottom due to the water being so low.
